Growing Places Stands Against Racism

Posted on July 2, 2020

Deeply committed to supporting all children and their families, we at Growing Places condemn all forms of racism. We also continue to strive to support families to raise this next generation to be empathetic, active against bystander apathy and inclusive to all.

One of the most powerful aspects of early childhood education is our ability to invite reflection as early and as often as possible. By celebrating each child’s differences through conversation, books, self-expression and holding space for each child’s story we begin the work of combating inequality. We are inviting our community to delve into conversations about racial inequality and racism with each other and with your children in an age appropriate way. We have compiled some resources to educate ourselves and to share with our community to tackle racial injustice. Please let us know if you have additional resources to share. Our goal is to help raise children that are thoughtful, informed and brave about racial and social injustice.
