Early Education Programs that Develop a Love of Learning and Academic Readiness

Growing Places pre-K teachers set up their classroom environment so children learn through play, with further emphasis on making choices, developing confidence, and growing independence.

Children build on their social and academic skills through working in small and large groups. Through child-directed and teacher-directed activities, children advance in pre-reading, writing, science, art, music and cultural areas. This learning extends beyond the walls of the classroom. Through gardening, for example, children are thrilled to grow their own food for snack during the summer. With careful planning, teachers create an environment where each child can experience success. Teachers emphasize developing a love of learning, as well as academic readiness for public school.
